 Komorebi

Komorebi is a Japanese word that can only be described as the light that filters through the leaves of the trees.

As a photographer, I'm in love with light; but it's not just the light, it's the stories that it can tell and the life that it lifts out of us. Each person has a unique and beautiful story. I have the passion and privilege to tell your love story and capture that perfect light. You will remember not only the moments, but the emotions, smiles, and love you were surrounded with on your wedding day.

I chose Komorebi Photography (KO-MO-Reh-Bee), as our business name not only because it was unique, but because of the love story behind it. My husband and I fell in love while studying abroad in Japan. I found the word when I returned home with a passion for capturing moments and telling love stories. The name not only fit us as a husband and wife team who fell in love in Japan, but we really felt the meaning connected us with how we want to tell your story. As Christians, God also calls us to be a light in this dark world. We not only want our business to represent love but also the faith we share.

Rooftop Wedding

Kaylan and Edwin had a beautiful bilingual ceremony on the rooftop of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

This sunset ceremony was nothing short of a unique and beautiful way to begin a lifelong adventure together.

Kaylan got ready with her bridesmaids at the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel

Ashley Brim, did the Bridal party's make-up. She did a wonderful job.

Kaylan's hair was done by Lindy Moore at Tangles Hair Salon.

Bridesmaids mix + matched thier dresses

Final touches and helping Kalyan into her dress had everyone giddy

Kaylan bought her dress at David's Bridal

Edwin patiently waited to see his bride. We decided the Devon tower atrium would be the perfect place for their first look.

The first time he sees her.

It was a beautiful bilingual ceremony with a touch of hispanic tradition and the couple's own personal style.

Their wedding cake was made by the uptown bakery in Edmond.

Congratulations Kaylan and Edwin. It was truly and honor to be a part of this day.

There is nothing sweeter than a capturing a two people so in love. I just adore my brides! Check out this sweet couple's engagement photos I shot in Springfield Missouri last weekend.

This couples laughter was infectious. I love the real true moments that happen because they happen everyday. They are truly in love. This is a real live beautiful adventure and I'm so blessed to capture these moments.

Un-Plugged and Wed

This is an article for all the brides out there who hire a professional to capture their day. Watch this video and think about having an un-plugged wedding. Everyone should enjoy your day and allow the person you hired to photograph or video your wedding do their job! I'm not looking out for me on this one. I'm really looking out for you. Brides, beware of this guy at your wedding...

Let your officiant know if you are having an un-plugged wedding and they can be the barer of "bad news." I've seen too many phones at weddings lately. Just as you are soaking up the moments so should your guests!

Want a hashtag? I love it. Just save the Instagrams for the reception! Have a table with your # displayed and let people know to have fun, and take photos. Just maybe wait until after the ceremony.

Want to know the best thing about having an unplugged wedding? Sharing the picture YOU want to share! We give you all of your files to download and share as well as a link for family and friends to order the pictures they want! Win. Win. (if your asking me...)
